Updated 4 October 2026

If you live in or around Den Bosch ('s-Hertogenbosch), you are in luck as a golfer. Within twenty kilometres lie five very different courses: a modern course between residential castles, a young 9-hole course on a former convent estate, one of the oldest clubs in the Netherlands, a river course in the floodplains and a Donald Steel design next to the Efteling. All five are in CaddiQ, with every hole mapped.

Golfpark De Haverleij: between the castles

The course closest to the city, and perhaps the most recognisable. Since 2002 it has been the green heart of the Haverleij district, between nine modern residential castles and the moated Slot Haverleij, close to the Maas. Open, with wide fairways, water and dykes. The yellow and red loops together make 18 holes with par 72. On the 9-hole par-3 course you can play without a course permit or handicap, which also makes it suitable if you are just starting out. All holes of De Haverleij

Golfclub Landgoed Coudewater: water on every hole

On the edge of Rosmalen, on the estate where a convent of the Order of Saint Birgitta was founded in 1434: Mary of the Cold Waters. The current 9-hole course opened in 2021, designed by Michiel van der Vaart, in a protected nature area with coppice banks. At 2,585 metres from the yellow tees it is not long, but water comes into play on all nine holes. All holes of Coudewater

Golfclub De Dommel: golf since 1928

On the Zegenwerp estate near Sint-Michielsgestel lies one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. The first nine holes were designed by Harry Colt, and the 1930 clubhouse is still in use. Since 2014 the course has had 18 holes, in the Dommel valley with heath, drift sand and woodland. As a visitor you play here with an NGF card and a handicap of 36 or better, and you request a tee time by phone. All holes of De Dommel

Golfclub De Dorpswaard: in the floodplains of the Maas

Near Kerkdriel, outside the dykes in the old river bed of the Maas. A 9-hole course by Gerard Jol with two tees per hole, so the back nine feels like a new round. Water and raised greens shape the game; at high water the course can flood, which is why the clubhouse stands on stilts. Next to the main course there is a par-3/4 course. All holes of De Dorpswaard

Golfpark De Loonsche Duynen: next to the Efteling

The furthest of the five, but worth the drive. The 18 holes by British architect Donald Steel have lain on the south side of the Efteling since 1995, with woodland, heath and sandy soil towards the Loonse en Drunense Duinen. Until the end of 2020 the course was called Efteling Golfpark. Since 2023 there has also been a 9-hole short-golf course, with no access requirements. All holes of De Loonsche Duynen
