Polder course bordering a Natura2000 area near Amsterdam
De Zaanse is located in the peatland meadow landscape of Wijdewormer, less than 15 minutes by car north of Amsterdam. The course borders a Natura2000 nature reserve; the windmills of the Zaanse Schans are visible in the background. The site describes the course as a polder layout where water features surround and cross the holes, and where five holes are played from tees on an old dike. According to the site, accuracy matters more than distance to avoid the many water hazards, and wind across the flat polder can be a significant factor. The complex includes a driving range with Trackman, chipping greens, a putting green and a catering facility.
The course consists of two loops of 9 holes each: Lus Zuid (holes 1–9) and Lus Oost (holes 10–18).
